Just 2 kilometers off the northeastern coast of Fuerteventura, lies the small island of Lobos, an uninhabited paradise which was granted the status of protected nature reserve in 1982. The perfect destination for a relaxing day out on the water, the island is surrounded by crystal clear waters and dotted with beautiful white sandy beaches. With the boat tour to Lobos Island from Corralejo, aboard a spacious catamaran, you will explore the island by sea, with stops for swimming, snorkeling and other water activities. There will also be a stop for lunch with the typical Spanish paella.
Program of the boat tour to Lobos with lunch:
Pick-up at your hotel in the Corralejo area or at a meeting point and transfer to the port of Corralejo. Here you will meet the crew and board a spacious catamaran.
We will set sail for the island of Lobos, passing through El Río, a narrow 2-kilometer channel that separates Fuerteventura from Lobos Island. During the northward journey, you will already catch a glimpse of the island’s highest point, Montaña de la Caldera, an ancient semi-submerged volcano measuring 127 meters above the sea level. From this vantage point, you can also spot the southern coast of Lanzarote and the Martiño Lighthouse, located at the northernmost tip of Lobos Island. This lighthouse, the island’s only official building, was once home to Lobos’ sole resident, the guardian Antoñito “El Farero”.
We will continue until we reach La Concha Beach, a semi-circular bay sheltered from currents, renowned for its turquoise waters and abundant marine life. Here, we will drop anchor for a refreshing break. Depending on the number of participants, we will divide into two groups of approximately 10 people each:
One group will board a semi-rigid boat for a trip to the port of Lobos Island, where a guided tour will begin, exploring the crystal-clear lagoons and the ancient fishing village. A stop for photos at the famous Puertito de Isla de Lobos, one of the island’s most picturesque spots, is included.
In the meantime, the other group will remain on the catamaran to continue enjoying water activities (snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding) or simply relax while admiring the scenery.
Onboard, a delicious traditional Spanish paella will be served, accompanied by drinks, beer, and wine.
After the two groups switch activities, the tour concludes with a return to the port of Corralejo and a transfer back to your hotel or the meeting point.

Fuerteventura is an island with an exotic flair, its European soul enriched by its proximity to Africa. If you’ve chosen to travel to Fuerteventura, it means you love nature and marine landscapes: in that case, the island’s endless beaches will become your favorite place during your stay. There are no monuments to visit, but instead beaches and islets where you can fully enjoy the island’s untouched nature. Among the top things to do in Fuerteventura are all the water sports and boat tours to discover the most beautiful spots for swimming and capturing stunning photos. One of the must-do experiences is a visit to Lobos Island, a completely uninhabited island declared a protected nature reserve in 1982, where staying overnight is not allowed, but visiting is absolutely a must.
Lobos Island is just two kilometers off the northeastern coast of Fuerteventura, not visiting it would truly be a shame! There is a ferry available, but walking on the island requires a permit. The easiest and most rewarding way to visit Lobos is by booking a private boat tour like this one from the Corralejo area, which also allows you to enjoy lunch on board while admiring the island’s stunning coastline.
Once you reach the little paradise of Lobos by catamaran, you’ll spot the Caldera, a beautiful 127-meter semi-submerged volcano, and sail past the famous Faro de Marino, the island’s main structure, once home to Lobos’ only inhabitant: Antonio El Farero. On Lobos, you’ll also see the charming Puertito, the island’s old harbor that looks like a picture-perfect postcard. During this boat tour to Lobos Island, we’ll stop at La Concha, a stunning crescent-shaped beach naturally protected from the wind. Here, you can dive into turquoise waters and enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) with all the equipment provided on board, while the crew prepares a seaside lunch.
Visiting Fuerteventura means setting off in search of the island’s most stunning beaches. Its volcanic and diverse landscape offers everything from beautiful golden beaches to more rugged, darker ones, typical of volcanic origin. Fuerteventura’s beaches are also a favorite destination for surf and kite enthusiasts, thanks to the winds that often breeze across the island year-round. Among the most famous beaches are Playa de Jandía, near the renowned Sotavento beach, and Playa de Cofete, which is usually more sheltered from the wind. And of course, don’t miss the shores of nearby Lobos Island, a natural paradise just two kilometers from Fuerteventura.
To fully experience the island’s wild soul, we recommend renting a car. This way, you can explore new beaches every day and enjoy a different landscape at every turn. If you prefer not to rent a car and want to avoid any kind of stress, you can stay near one of the island’s ports, like the port of Corralejo, from which boat tours depart to discover the island’s most beautiful spots.
Fuerteventura is one of the Canary Islands and is easily accessible by plane. On the eastern side of the island, in El Matorral (just a few kilometers from Puerto del Rosario), you’ll find the island’s only airport: Fuerteventura Airport.
Fuerteventura is a Spanish island, but its climate and location give it a unique blend of European and nearby African influences. In addition to the classic Spanish paella, which you can also enjoy on board our catamaran during the boat tour to Lobos, Fuerteventura offers specialties such as papas arrugadas con mojo picón (boiled potatoes with a mildly spicy sauce), majorero cheese (goat cheese), goat stew, sacochoco canario (a local fish similar to grouper), and for dessert, huevos mole.
The excursion from Fuerteventura to Lobos Island is carried out on a spacious catamaran, fully eco-friendly and capable of safely and privately accommodating up to 30 people on board.
The experience lasts about 4 hours, during which you’ll see the famous Lobos Island, swim at La Concha, and enjoy paella for lunch aboard a catamaran.
