You Know! is committed to sustainability, in order to offer more ethical and responsible services, continuously working on every level to guarantee our experiences at sea have the minimum environmental and social impact. From now on, each decision we make is a symbol of our commitment: from developing eco-compatible solutions, choosing materials with a low environmental impact, the digital innovation of the entire production chain and the collaboration on projects and initiatives aimed at safeguarding the oceans. With the promise to always do better than the day before because it is necessary - but it is above all the very essence of change.

Our concrete sustainable actions and goals

It is becoming increasingly clear that the world is facing an enormous challenge: the model of unrestrained and irresponsible consumer society is pushing the planet’s resources to the limit and exhausting its strength.
It is imperative to act swiftly to help our society overcome this challenge, safeguarding the right of future generations to have and implement the tools necessary to meet their needs in harmony with nature.
It’s time for a radical rethink. If we are aware of having been part of the problem, we are equally aware of having a unique opportunity—and the responsibility—to be part of the solution.
We have therefore chosen to take on our corporate responsibility throughout the entire service creation and delivery chain. We are raising our standards, taking initiative, exploring the latest technologies, and working harder to create meaningful change.
Since 2020, the entire You Know! team has been committed to doing more, and because we want to lead by example, we will never ask our clients or partners to do anything we haven’t already committed to ourselves.

SINGLE-USE PLASTIC ELIMINATION

In 2020 we began an intensive journey to redesign our onboard packaging and products to reduce the use of raw materials, increase recycled content, and standardize materials to facilitate reuse and recycling.
Single-use plastic products have been replaced with PLA (Polylactic Acid) products: an innovative bioplastic derived from the transformation of sugars present in corn, beets, sugarcane, and other non-petroleum-based organic materials.
This bioplastic is biodegradable and compostable. Unlike common plastics, which can take from 100 to 1,000 years to degrade, PLA has a much shorter lifespan: under proper conditions of heat and humidity, it degrades in 1 to 4 years.
To date, we have reduced single-use plastic consumption by 80%, and for this You Know! has obtained the base Plastic Free certification, recognizing our concrete action and clearly defined sustainability goals.

SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT

After extensive research and evaluation, we revised our procurement standards and now select only suppliers that meet specific sustainability criteria and align with our corporate policy. We work closely with them to promote responsible sourcing practices and to develop new solutions that lead to improved environmental and ethical performance.

TRAINING PROGRAM

We firmly believe that a company reflects the people behind it. For this reason, we have developed a training and awareness program on sustainability for all our operational teams. Integrating sustainability criteria into their work is essential, so we are training all our staff on best practices in reuse, recycling, reducing energy and water consumption—actions that help ensure the eco-efficiency of our operations.

ENJOY THE SILENT HYBRID

After about two years of work and research, in partnership with Italy’s leading electric propulsion company for boating, in May 2021 we launched the first two You Know! boats equipped with hybrid engine technology.

A pioneering solution in recreational boating that combines the advantages of a diesel engine—speed, power, and range—with those of electric propulsion: zero emissions, silent navigation, and reduced wake.
In full electric mode, the system consumes up to four times less fuel than a comparable boat, reducing emissions of carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and unburned hydrocarbons (HC).
But the most surprising benefit is silence: the chance to hear the sea and the wind, to experience navigation in complete harmony with nature—the way it should always be. In 2021, we also achieved two fundamental milestones in our commitment to sustainability and service quality:

• The ISO 9001:2015 certification, for our quality management system;
• The ISO 14001:2015 certification, for our environmental management system.

These certifications formally confirm our intention to integrate sustainable practices and high standards in every aspect of our work: from tourism service management to supplier selection, to compliance with environmental regulations.

TOWARDS A GREENER FLEET AND A LIGHTER FOOTPRINT

In the two-year period 2022–2023, we took significant steps toward building a more responsible and sustainable model of nautical tourism.
In 2022, we:
• Defined new standards for responsible procurement, selecting suppliers aligned with our environmental and social values;
• Upgraded our entire support vehicle fleet to comply with the Euro 6 emissions standard, significantly reducing the environmental impact of land mobility;
• Launched the project “I created a forest”, contributing to the planting of three trees in Guatemala, Peru, and Italy—a small gesture that will absorb CO₂, produce oxygen, and support local farming families and social agricultural cooperatives;
• Launched a new hybrid boat, expanding our sustainable fleet.
In 2023, we:
• Achieved the complete elimination of single-use plastic on board, replacing all materials with reusable, recyclable, or compostable alternatives;
• Converted an additional boat to hybrid propulsion, continuing the ecological transition of our fleet;
• Introduced the sale of eco-friendly beach towels and sustainable sunscreens at our locations, giving guests the opportunity to make conscious choices during their experience.
At the same time, we moved closer to our goal of 50% renewable energy consumption at our operational bases, through the installation of new systems and the optimization of existing infrastructure.

SUSTAINABILITY AS A DAILY PRACTICE

2024 was a year of consolidation, where sustainability ceased to be just a goal and became an integral part of how we operate.
One of the most significant achievements was the attainment of the “B – Good” ESG score through the Synesgy platform, placing us among the top Italian companies with a high level of environmental, social, and governance performance, according to international standards such as the GRI and UN SDGs.
A result that reinforces our vision: to create authentic value for the territory through responsible nautical tourism.
Our sustainable practices have become everyday actions, embedded in the routines of our team and in every moment our guests spend on board.
We also joined FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano as a Corporate Golden Donor, supporting projects aimed at protecting and enhancing Italy’s natural and cultural heritage.
2024 marked a key moment of transition: from commitment to culture, from strategy to identity. Because for You Know!, sustainability is no longer a choice. It is who we are.

In 2025

SMALL GESTURES, BIG IMPACTS

In May 2025, we launched two more hybrid-propulsion boats, reaching the milestone of 40% of our fleet converted to hybrid technology.
A milestone that reflects our determination to make the sea the true protagonist of meaningful change.
Considering an average of 150 outings per boat, we estimate that over the next 5 years, this will lead to an overall saving of nearly 7 tons of emissions (CO₂, NOₓ, and particulate matter)—equivalent to the CO₂ absorbed in one year by 690 medium-sized trees.
Starting in April, we introduced the sale of bracelets made from recycled marine waste, recovered from the ocean and available at our offices.
The proceeds are entirely dedicated to supporting projects for cleaning the seas, allowing our guests to contribute actively to a concrete gesture for the environment.
Also in 2025, we initiated the drafting of our first sustainability report, a fundamental tool to provide transparency, measurability, and strategic vision for our environmental, social, and governance actions.
2025 is the year of consistency and awareness: every decision we make looks toward a broader, measurable, and shared impact.
Because sustainability is a journey—and every mile counts.

THE BIG LEAP... ELECTRIC!

The year 2030 will mark a pivotal moment for You Know!.
It will be the year in which we launch our first two fully electric boats, built from recycled materials and powered exclusively by clean energy.
Not only a technological achievement, but a bold declaration of values: the conscious decision to navigate without leaving a trace, to protect the sea that inspires us every day, and to offer our guests authentic experiences in full harmony with nature.
It’s the future we dreamed of. It’s the future we are building.
A zero-impact future, where every wave we ride tells the story of our promise to the planet.
