Itinerary – Boat trip from San Vito Lo Capo:
The experience begins at 10:00 a.m. at the tourist port of San Vito Lo Capo (Via Faro, 18, 91010 San Vito Lo Capo TP), where you’ll be welcomed by our crew for check-in and boarding on our eco-friendly hybrid gozzo.
The boat leaves the port and begins a scenic coastal navigation toward the Zingaro Nature Reserve. Spanning about 7 km, the reserve is a haven of marine and terrestrial biodiversity, with a rugged coastline full of caves, coves and small beaches accessible only by sea. Along the route you’ll see Cala Tonnarella dell’Uzzo, Cala del Leone, and the evocative Grotta degli Innamorati. Here you’ll have the chance to swim and snorkel all the way to the tiny beach hidden inside the cave, a truly unique experience.
We continue along the coast to reach the famous Tonnara di Scopello, one of Sicily’s oldest tuna fisheries, set in a bay framed by dramatic faraglioni, two massive rock stacks rising from the sea and covered in wild vegetation. The rich seabed makes this an ideal spot for snorkeling.
Next stop is Castellammare del Golfo around lunchtime. Once in port, you’ll have about two hours of free time to explore the old town, walk along the seafront, or enjoy a typical Trapani-style lunch in one of the local restaurants.
After the break, we return on board for the final part of the tour. We’ll sail toward two hidden gems: Cala Bianca, known for its gleaming pebbles and clear waters, and Cala Rossa, nestled among rose-colored rocks, perfect for one last swim.
As we head back, relax while our skipper serves a traditional aperitif with local delicacies and cold drinks, accompanied by good music.
Return to the port of San Vito Lo Capo is expected around 5:00 p.m.

The harbor area of Castellammare del Golfo offers a lovely seafront promenade, ideal for a walk and a seafood lunch at one of the many restaurants. To reach the Zingaro Nature Reserve, Scopello, and Castellammare del Golfo from San Vito Lo Capo, you can embark on this boat tour that will show you all the highlights of the northwestern coast in just one day.
The Zingaro Nature Reserve takes its name from the Italian word "Zingaro", which means "gypsy" or "nomad". The name originates from the historical presence of gypsy groups who once settled in the area. The Zingaro Nature Reserve is a protected natural area located along the northwestern coast of Sicily, between Castellammare del Golfo and San Vito Lo Capo. It was the first nature reserve established in Sicily, in 1981, and is known for its stunning landscapes, limestone cliffs, hidden beaches, remote coves, and rich flora and fauna. The name "Zingaro" may also reflect the area's wild and untamed character, evoking a sense of freedom and adventure often associated with the nomadic lifestyle. The reserve is a place of great allure, offering visitors the chance to explore untouched nature and enjoy breathtaking views along its hiking trails.
The coastline stretching from San Vito Lo Capo to Castellammare del Golfo is full of beautiful spots for swimming. Among them, the Zingaro Nature Reserve is definitely worth a stop, with Cala del Leone, Cala Tonnarella dell’Uzzo, and the stunning Lovers’ Cave, where you can snorkel and swim for a truly unique experience. Continuing south, you’ll reach Scopello, famous for its historic tuna fishery (tonnara) and its iconic sea stacks rising from the water. Here too, we recommend a swim, preferably with a mask, so you can admire the rich marine life on the seabed.
Yes, the boat tour includes 4 stops: a visit to the Lovers’ Cave in the Scopello Nature Reserve, a stop at the sea stacks (faraglioni) of Scopello, a stop to explore the village of Castellammare del Golfo on foot, and a final swim stop at Cala Bianca and Cala Rossa.
The excursion lasts about 8 hours, during which you’ll cruise along the coastline from San Vito Lo Capo to Castellammare del Golfo, with scenic swim stops and time to spend on land at the harbor of Castellammare del Golfo.
