Embark on this three-hour eco-adventure from Portimão and journey aboard a state-of-the-art catamaran powered by electro-solar energy, with a small group of just 30 guests. Marvel at the Algarve coast’s stunning vistas, from secluded beaches to the majestic Benagil Cave, all while respecting the delicate balance of nature.
Program of the catamaran cruise to the Benagil Cave from Portimão:
- Meet from 15 minutes before the departure time, at Marina de Portimão, pier “M”, 8500-345 Portimão.
- Board our silent catamaran and start sailing along the Arade River. Admire historic sites like the São João do Arade Castle, a medieval fortress defending against pirate invasions, and the quaint Ponta do Altar lighthouse, perched atop its namesake promontory.
- As we reach the Atlantic, our journey leads us to Carvoeiro. This timeless village is home to pristine beaches and hidden bays, among which Praia do Carvoeiro: a wide promenade of fine, golden sand, flanked by charming restaurants and bars.
- The highlight of our tour is the visit to the Benagil Cave, a natural wonder accessible only by sea. Its unique ‘skylight’ opening, created over the years by the erosion of the sea waves and the interplay of sunlight on the crystal-clear waters create a mesmerizing spectacle. Experience the tranquility of this natural cathedral aboard our eco-friendly vessel, perfectly harmonizing with the gentle sea sounds.
- During the trip, enjoy a leisurely swimming stop, where you can snorkel or dive into the refreshing Atlantic, embracing the freedom of the open water.
- The last stop is Praia da Marinha, celebrated for its crystal-clear waters and dramatic golden cliffs. Recognized as one of Europe’s top ten beaches and among the world’s top 100 by the Michelin Guide, it’s a fitting crescendo to our tour.
- Our eco-journey concludes after approximately three hours as we return to Marina de Portimão, carrying with us memories of the Algarve’s serene beauty and natural wonders.
