During your holiday in France, spend an evening aboard a comfortable eco-friendly boat, with a small group of just 12 passengers, exploring at sunset the most beautiful sites that surround Marsiglia, as far as the Frioul Islands Archipelago. Take advantage of a stop for a swim in the cool waters of the Mediterranean and enjoy a delicious buffet dinner on board.
Excursion from Marseille to the Calanques National Park programme:
- Meet 15 minutes before the departure time, at the quay of honor at Vieux-Port 70, gate n°2, 13002 Marseille, France, next to the “Ferry Boat” or on the left side of the Vieux-Port, opposite the CNTL wharf “La Criée”. The Eco Calanques staff will be there to welcome you.
- Your cruise starts along the coast of Marseille, a famous city in the south of France with irresistible beaches and crystal clear waters. As we head towards the Frioul Islands, you will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent view of the cliffs dropping into the water and the city skyline from the unique perspective of the sea. This archipelago, part of the Calanques National Park, is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna and is made up of four islands: Pomègues, Ratonneau, If and Tiboulen du Frioul.
- We arrive at the Château d’If, a French fortress built in the first half of the 16th century on the rocky island of the same name in the Gulf of Marseille. Originally designed as a prison, this building owes its fame to the famous novel ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’ by Alexandre Dumas. Unchanged over the years and preserved in its architecture, nowadays it has become a museum that is a major attraction for the many visitors who come to see it every year. The best way to enjoy an unforgettable experience is to visit it at sunset, when the sky begins to turn golden.
- At this point, the skipper will continue to sail around the remaining islands, heading for a sheltered bay where he will stop for a leisurely swim. Here you will have the opportunity to cool off and snorkel in the clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, as the sun gives way to the colors of the night. Once back on board, you will be able to enjoy a delicious buffet dinner offered by the crew and celebrate with a glass of wine.
- On the return journey you will be able to relax with some background music and admire the city’s twinkling lights on the horizon at night.
- The tour ends after about 3h30min with the return to the Old Port of Marseille.
