Tour program of the Cinque Terre boat trip from Monterosso:
Meeting point at the boarding dock in Monterosso (from where the ferries leave) and start of the boat tour.
The cruise will take you through the “Gulf of Poets” and all along the Cinque Terre National Park. During the tour, enjoy a stop for swimming in the most beautiful beach of the Cinque Terre that can only be reached by boat; enjoy a glass of sparkling prosecco and the lunch with local products.
Going out of the port, you will admire from the sea Monterosso al Mare: the largest and most visited of the villages; admire its large beach, lined with colourful umbrellas and spiral up through the village.
Further along, you will see Corniglia: the smallest of the Cinque Terre, built far above the ocean on the cliffs.
From Corniglia, you will depart for Vernazza, the beauty queen of the Cinque Terre: the most popular and the most photogenic one. Vernazza’s shoreline stands out because of the iconic colourful buildings along the cliffs and the beautiful church tower that looks out onto the bay.
The tour continues to Manarola: the village is perched atop jagged ocean cliffs and surrounded by lush-green vineyards. It has an incredible spit of land where the most famous Cinque Terre Instagram photos are taken.
Finally Riomaggiore, a picturesque coast-side village with postcard perfect panoramas at every bend.
Once the tour is over, you will return to Monterosso.

Among the most visited of the Cinque Terre is the village of Monterosso al Mare, located west of the Gulf of Poets. The symbol of Monterosso al Mare is certainly the large statue of Neptune overlooking the beach, visible from the sea. Monterosso has a coastline developed in length and very welcoming in the summer months compared to its sister cities of the Cinque Terre, so it is very convenient for bathing. But the village of Monterosso al Mare is also full of 19th century houses that make its urban planning even more fascinating, made up of the classic pastel-coloured Genoese tower-houses and agglomerated on the rocky mountain.
The land of Corniglia is full of vineyards, not surprisingly it is also called the land of wine. Corniglia is also mentioned at the backdrop of Boccaccio’s literary success, The Decameron, when reference is made to wine. But Corniglia is not only the home of wine, in fact, together with the scent of grapes and the exceptional panorama, Corniglia is the smallest and most particular village on the Ligurian coast. Only here, among all the villages of the Cinque Terre, you can admire a legendary staircase of 377 steps and a beautiful Genoese rose window made of the precious Carrara marble. Its distance from the sea makes it particularly scenic, but this is not why Corniglia does not have a beach: from here, armed with patience, it is possible to descend to sea level and access the Spiaggione, a 700-metre-long coastline of free beach and pebbles.
The Vernazza spur became world famous when the New York Times listed it among 46 places to visit. This village contains all the typical features of the Cinque Terre with its colourful tower-houses, streets on a human scale, local craftsmanship and the descent towards the crystal clear sea. Equally characteristic are the terraces for the cultivation of vines: if Corniglia is the land of wine, it is also true that it is in Vernazza that there are about 7 thousand kilometres of dry stone walls built over time and which frame the terraces of the area.
Manarola is the fourth charming village of the Cinque Terre. What makes it recognisable is the position of its houses, which seem to come out of the mountain and are almost placed on top of each other, like a crib. On its hill every year, on the day of December 8th, which corresponds to the Christian feast of the Immaculate Conception, the largest illuminated nativity scene in the world is installed. Also Manarola, like the nearby Riomaggiore, was born near a river bed called Groppo. Also from Manarola starts the famous Via dell’Amore, a path for enthusiasts and hikers, which connects the village of Manarola to Riomaggiore. The poet Eugenio Montale and the singer-songwriter Fabrizio De Andrè loved these places so much that here is placed a plaque in memory of both of them.
The village of Riomaggiore takes its name from the stream that crossed it before the shoal. Imagine a village born around the bed of a river that descends quickly from the mountain to the sea: Riomaggiore is exactly like that. Its tower-houses in Genoese style run towards the water making it very particular. For this reason, its view from the water is spectacular: it seems to be in front of an animated postcard.
The best way to visit the Cinque Terre in one day is a tour at sea, away from the chaos of the crowds and without car parking problems. The Cinque Terre is a group of charming and characteristic villages overlooking the Gulf of Poets and the enchantment of this landscape can be perfectly perceived by crossing these places by boat. Vernazza, Monterosso, Manarola, Riomaggiore, Corniglia are the 5 villages that you will see during the four-hour boat tour of the Cinque Terre and, for each of them, you can take wonderful photos. But it doesn’t end there, because during this experience in the Cinque Terre you will discover the colours and all the magic of the Gulf of Poets; you will also taste the typical Ligurian aperitif and swim in enchanting places accessible only by sea. By boat you will see the best of the Cinque Terre without stress and investing the right time to visit the main attractions of the Gulf of Poets in total relaxation. Are you ready to leave for the Giant of Monterosso al Mare, the famous spur of Vernazza, the most particular crib of houses known in the world?
What better occasion to enjoy an aperitif at sea in the Cinque Terre? In our boat tours, in addition to visiting the best of the Cinque Terre you will taste the typical Ligurian focaccia accompanied by prosecco from a truly privileged position! If, instead, you want to experience the magic of the sunset aperitif in the Cinque Terre choose the Cinque Terre sunset cruise from Monterosso with Aperol Spritz and tapas happy hour.
Yes, on this four-hour boat tour we will swim in a place accessible only by sea, so you won’t see it again if you don’t choose a boat tour of the Cinque Terre.

The best of Cinque Terre from the sea – Cinque Terre boat tour from Monterosso
I was looking for a boat tour to do while we were in CT because you have to—it's the best way to see everything in a short amount of time. I came across You Know! and saw they had a 2-hour boat tour for 6 people for 90 euros a person leaving from the city where we were staying (Monterosso). The booking was seamless and the customer service (thank you so much Lisa for all your help!) was great when we had to switch something. They were super responsive. My family and I talk about how the boat was the highlight of our time in CT. We had a bit of trouble finding our boat but once we did, were off and having a great time. We had wine on the boat and because there were six of us we had it all to ourselves. Even if you are two or four people, the boat is big enough to accommodate the maximum of 6 passengers and still feel like you have your own space. Our captain was super nice and friendly as well. Highly recommend You Know! You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to try them out in another Italian city!
