Aboard a comfortable boat, with a small group of 12 guests, set off from La Valletta to discover the coast of Malta. During the cruise, you will admire the enchanting St. Paul’s Island, the golden sands of Mellieħa Bay, and the suggestive Anchor Bay, where the famous Popeye Village overlooks the crystal-clear sea. You will have the chance to dive into calm, transparent waters and take in the breathtaking scenery as the sun gently sets on the horizon. Program of the sunset boat excursion in Malta:
- Meet at 6:00pm at La Valletta Port. Here, you will meet the crew and board a comfortable boat.
- As you set sail from the harbour, you will admire the imposing fortifications built by the Knights of Malta, which still dominate the landscapes today. Sailing along the island’s north-eastern coast, you will pass through captivating locations such as The Three Cities, Sliema and St. Julian’s Bay, renowned for its picturesque scenery and crystal-clear waters.
- The first stop will be St. Paul’s Island, a small islet shrouded in legend, where, according to tradition, the Apostle Paul was shipwrecked, marking the beginning of Malta’s Christianisation. Here, you can admire the statue erected in his honour, set within a landscape of extraordinary beauty.
- We will continue towards Mellieħa Bay, the largest beach in Malta, renowned for its stretch of golden sand and clear, shallow waters. Here, you can relax and take a dip in the calm waters of one of the island’s most beloved bays.
- As the sun begins to set, we will reach Achor Bay, a charming inlet nestled between rocky cliffs and emerald waters. In addition to being an ideal spot for swimming and snorkeling, this bay is famous for Popeye Village, a cluster of wooden houses built in 1980 as the film set for “Popeye”, starring Robin Williams in the leading role. Today, transformed into a theme park, it attracts visitors from all over the world and offers a unique experience for both adults and children.
- Next, we will stop for a refreshing swim in a sheltered bay near Anchor Bay, surrounded by a breathtaking landscape, where the sun reflects on the crystal clear water and the sky is painted in warm hues.
- During the return journey to La Valleta, you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking spectacle of the sunset lighting up the coastline, creating a magical and unforgettable atmosphere.
- The tour ends after approximately 2,5 hours with the return to the departure port.
