The town center is a smattering of stone houses clustered around a deep bay. Once in In Maslinica you can walk around its narrow streets, as well as to have lunch in one of the fantastic local restaurants.
Finally we head to the Blue Lagoon, on Drvenik Veli island, between the two Krknjaši islands. The Blue Lagoon in Croatia is a bright blue paradise, pure bliss for snorkelers thanks to its crystalline sea and sandy seabed. Not to mention that the Blue Lagoon is a natural habitat of dolphins, so if you have a lucky day, you will have a chance to see them. Vela Rina bay is located on the island of Little Zirona (Drvenik Mali), Croatia. We are in the middle of the Trogir archipelago from which this beautiful boat tour starts. The whole coast of the island of Little Zirona is rocky, with the exception of Vale Rina. This bay, in fact, overlooks the sea with its large sandy beach where you can swim, sunbathe and enjoy all the beauty of the island from a unique perspective.
The village of Maslinica (or Oliveto’s Port) on the island of Šolta (Olinta) is a characteristic fishing village in Dalmatia, Croatia. Its origin dates back to the 18th century thanks to the Venetian aristocracy of the Marks: the three brothers, in fact, built here a castle that served as a military fortress and around which the village, which at that time was owned by farmers, developed. Since the family had no sons, Domenica Marchi was the only heir of the castle, which passed to her daughter Vincenza and her spouse Ivan Martinis, provided that they took the name Martinis - Marchi, in order to inherit the castle. For years this castle was abandoned, until its restoration began in 2001 and today Martinis-Marchi Castle is the most important tourist point in the city. In addition to the castle, Oliveto’s Port is famous for its unspoiled nature, clear waters, beautiful beaches and quaint town, which have elected it “best authentic coastal destination” in Croatia. The village of Maslinica is an ideal place for a quiet walk through the narrow streets of the village, finding good Croatian restaurants and breathing nature.
Going down towards the eastern part of the island of Drvenik Veli, we come across the bay of Krknjaši, known as the Blue Lagoon. Not to be confused with another equally famous Blue Grotto in Croatia, which is located on the island of Budikovac, near the island of Vis. The sea in this cove in big Zirona (Zirona Grande in italian) is so crystal clear that you can see urchins and dolphins: snorkelling here will be a real treat for your eyes. The sandy seabed of the Blue Lagoon also makes bathing pleasant, while you admire the island of the Trogir archipelago directly from the sea.
