Enjoy a breathtaking experience aboard a “Blue Boat” certified catamaran for responsible watching and admire whales and dolphins in their natural habitat. Then, sail to the majestic cliffs of Los Gigantes and stop at the Bay of Masca to swim, snorkel and enjoy lunch, fruit and drinks.
Program of the boat trip to Los Gigantes cliffs and Masca bay:
Meet at 10:15am at the departure point in Puerto Colón. Here you will meet the crew and board a luxury catamaran, certified “Blue Boat” for sustainable and responsible watching.
After a quick safety briefing, you will set sail towards the dolphin and whale watching hotspots, such as the Teno-Rasca Whale Sanctuary, part of Tenerife’s official Special Conservation Zone about 3.4 miles off the coast, home to up to 25 different species of cetaceans, including the Pilot Whale and Bottlenose Dolphin. You will be able to admire these wonderful creatures up close in their natural habitat, listening to the crew’s expert commentary.
We will then continue to the cliff of Los Gigantes, one of Tenerife’s most spectacular landscapes. Marvel at the sheer, rocky walls of Los Gigantes rise majestically above the sea, reaching a height of 600 meters.
Finally, we will head to the quiet Bay of Masca, a wonderful volcanic beach with crystal clear waters, where we will stop for swimming and snorkeling, as well as to enjoy the lunch, fresh fruit and drinks.
At the end of the boat trip, around 3:30pm, you will return to the port.

Tenerife is an island full of beautiful beaches to visit, where you can swim and enjoy snorkeling by choosing an excursion. From north to south, you'll find bays and beaches of various sizes and colors, some more family-friendly with full amenities, others more wild and unique. When visiting the western part of Tenerife, you can choose a boat tour that lets you admire one of the most stunning coastlines on the island: the cliffs of Los Gigantes and the captivating Masca Bay, along with whale and dolphin watching in the Teno-Rasca Natural Reserve. This area of Tenerife is spectacular, and an excursion to Masca and Los Gigantes is the perfect way to discover this wild and unmissable side of the island, with all the comfort of a welcoming catamaran.
The boat excursion to Masca and Los Gigantes departs from Puerto Colón. Puerto Colón is only 3 kilometers from Playa de las Américas and just over 500 meters from Costa Adeje, which are among the most visited areas in Tenerife. To reach Puerto Colón from the Playa de Las Américas area by public transport, you can take a bus that connects the two locations in Tenerife.
Masca Bay and the Cliffs of Los Gigantes are located in the northwestern part of the island. Both are characterized by volcanic rock, which gives the sand and cliffs their black color. This area of Tenerife was once considered the edge of the known world, due to the majesty and beauty of the cliffs that line this stretch of coastline.
Masca Bay is a cove with crystal-clear waters, named after the small village of Masca, located a few kilometers inland from the coast of Tenerife. There are two ways to visit this bay: the first is by hiking down a trail that connects the bay to the village, which takes about three hours. This route requires a good level of physical fitness, as the path is quite steep but also very scenic. Once you arrive, you can enjoy part of your day there, but keep in mind you'll need plenty of time and energy to hike back up the mountain. The second, easier and more comfortable option is to reach Masca Bay with a boat tour, such as this excursion that allows you to conveniently visit both Masca Bay and the Cliffs of Los Gigantes, along with whale and dolphin watching.
The Cliffs of Los Gigantes are massive rock formations up to 600 meters high, formed by solidified volcanic lava. These towering lava columns are a spectacular sight to see and photograph while sailing along the coast. Have fun spotting shapes in the rock, some of these lava columns actually resemble human figures. To witness this one-of-a-kind landscape, simply book this boat excursion, which includes both the Cliffs of Los Gigantes and Masca Bay, along with whale and dolphin watching in the nearby Teno-Rasca Natural Reserve.
Groups of whales and dolphins, such as numerous pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins, have made Tenerife their natural habitat. The Teno-Rasca marine strip, in particular, is a special conservation area designated to protect the most vulnerable dolphins and whales. With this boat tour, you’ll also have the chance to spot whales and dolphins while enjoying a sustainable and responsible sailing experience, guaranteed by the “Blue Boat” flag, which certifies the professionalism of the operators in conducting their work.
Children and families have many ways to enjoy themselves in Tenerife. In particular, whale and dolphin watching is one of the most loved activities by kids, perfect for experiencing direct contact with nature, guided by certified professionals.
The excursion in Tenerife is carried out on a catamaran that safely and comfortably accommodates groups of up to 64 people, ensuring the right amount of privacy. The yellow “Blue Boat” flag certifies the professionalism of the operators in conducting whale watching activities.
The experience lasts about 5 hours, during which you will spot whales and dolphins, admire the imposing Cliffs of Los Gigantes, and enjoy lunch in the crystal-clear waters of Masca Bay, where you can dive in for a swim and go snorkeling.
