To know more about your boat trip...

Gran Canaria is one of the most visited Canary Islands. Its European soul, combined with a mild climate year-round and diverse landscapes influenced by its proximity to the African continent and the ocean breeze, make it one of the top destinations for Europeans and travelers worldwide. Chosen by adults, families, and windsurfing enthusiasts alike, Gran Canaria offers plenty to explore. Maspalomas is by far the most famous tourist destination on the island and one of the most visited in Europe. In 2005, it was declared a cultural site of interest in the Canary Islands. Located in the south of the island, it is well connected to the northern capital, Las Palmas. In particular, Playa del Inglés is the area with the largest number of accommodations, though there are also many cultural sites of interest. While you're there, pay special attention to the beach and the dunes behind it, which make up the Maspalomas Natural Park. Strong winds often cause small sandstorms that can be bothersome, so it’s best to bring sunglasses to protect your eyes and always watch out for the sand’s temperature, it’s like having a piece of the Sahara right on Gran Canaria. A visit to Las Palmas is a must. Alongside Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it is the capital of the entire Canary Islands archipelago. The port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is one of the most important in Europe, both for tourism and commerce. As the capital, Las Palmas is the island’s most populated city, home to museums, cinemas, theaters, and two of the most popular beaches: Playa de Las Canteras and Playa de las Alcaravaneras. The Vegueta district is another must-visit in Gran Canaria. Vegueta is the historic center of Las Palmas and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990. Here you can admire the Casa Regental, residence of the president of the Court of Assizes of Gran Canaria; the Casa Consistoriales, Las Palmas' town hall; Casa Colón, which is believed to have been Christopher Columbus’ residence during a stopover on the island; and the Cathedral of Santa Ana, which blends Gothic, Renaissance, and Neoclassical styles. Inside the church, elevated to the status of minor basilica, you’ll find several sculptures by José Luján Pérez, the island’s most iconic artist. If you're in Vegueta, don’t miss the Canarian Museum, home to the most extensive collection documenting the rich civilization of the Guanches, the archipelago’s aboriginal people. If you prefer a small town with an unmistakable Mediterranean feel, even though it’s located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, we recommend Puerto de Mogán, a popular starting point for boat excursions, including this beautiful sailing tour we’ve suggested, which allows you to enjoy the wonders of Gran Canaria from the sea. The colorful hillside houses, narrow streets, and small bridges that cross the fishing village are inspired by classic Mediterranean architecture, reminiscent of Spanish, Greek, and Italian towns.
