This boat tour offers a unique chance to admire the stunning scenery of Corsica, including pristine beaches and majestic, rugged cliffs. It’s an unforgettable journey: setting sail from Ajaccio, the island’s main city, you’ll discover the wonders of the Calanques de Piana and the Scandola Nature Reserve.
Program of the boat trip to the Calanques de Piana from Ajaccio:
- Meet 2o minutes before the departure time, at the Port Tino Rossi, Av. du Premier Consul, 20000 Ajaccio, located at the end of the pier, opposite the gas station.
- The first stop is the Natural Reserve of Scandola. Explore this UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, a protected area both on land and at sea, spanning about 20 square kilometers in the Corsica Natural Park. The reserve showcases magnificent landscapes shaped by erosion, numerous caves, and steep cliffs above the sea, as well as a rich diversity of flora and fauna, all of which make it a unique place. Here you will be able to enjoy a stop for a swim, followed by a wine tasting on board.
- Next, very close to Scandola is the Gulf of Girolata. Visit this must-see coastal attraction, a quaint fishing village set amidst untouched, wild nature. Here, we’ll pause for lunch, and you might even spot the wild cows that frequently roam and graze on the beach.
- Continuing, the crew will lead you to discover the hidden treasures of the Calanques de Piana. Marvel at the towering red granite rocks emerging from the turquoise sea waters. Enter the most enchanting caves, including the not-to-be-missed “Lovers’ Cave.”
- Finally, we will sail to Cape Red, a striking rocky headland marking the end of the Gulf of Porto. Admire the breathtaking cliffs, natural arches, and caves. Visit the natural pools of the cape for a refreshing swim and a chance to explore the underwater world.
- The tour ends after about 9 hours with the return to Port Tino Rossi.
